The JVA is pleased to announce the annual JVA Boys Watch List to recognize the top JVA boys athletes for outstanding achievement on the volleyball court. Boys high school volleyball is growing at a 21% rate over the last five years, and this growth is also represented in the rapid growth of boys volleyball programs among JVA member clubs nationwide.

The announcement of the JVA Boys Watch List comes just six weeks after the JVA announced it investing $125,000 over the next five years in the form of a grant to MotorMVB to grow boys’ volleyball.

I am very proud that JVA is positively impacting the growth of boys volleyball in high school, club and college” says JVA Executive Director Jenny Hahn. “As part of our initiative we are very excited to announce the 1st Annual JVA Boys Watch List. This will give us the opportunity to recognize the individual boys and the member clubs who are raising the bar and showcasing our sport.

Players eligible for nomination are currently competing in age divisions 15U, 16U, 17U or 18U and graduating high school in 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022. All JVA member club directors or boys directors can submit nominations.

The JVA plans to continue to support the boys volleyball athletes and junior volleyball programs for outstanding achievement on the court, in the classroom and in their respective communities.

Respecting, rewarding, and acknowledging our top male athletes is an important piece to growing the game” shares Derek Jensen, JVA Board of Directors Boys Representative and Division1 Volleyball Club Director. “Young players are always looking up at those who are accomplishing great things at the next level, and are motivated to work harder with the hope that one day they too will be in the national spotlight. It is our goal with the JVA Watch List to give credit to those athletes who have already put in the hours, as well as inspire and motivate the stars of the future!”

Nominations for the 2019 JVA Boys Watch List will be accepted between Tuesday, February 12 – Friday, March 15, 2019. All eligible athletes nominated for the Watch List will be selected.
