The 2017 Ultra Ankle® JVA AthLeader Award selects 20 girls indoor junior volleyball players who exemplify outstanding volleyball performance, academic excellence, leadership, responsibility, and selflessness.
“We are excited to open nominations for this year’s Ultra Ankle® JVA Athleader Award. These young women are the over achievers of our sport. Every year our selection committee is overwhelmed by the extensive contributions these athletes make to their club, their school and their community. They are future leaders and we thank Ultra Ankle® for their support in recognizing their successes” shares JVA Executive Director Jenny Hahn.
When submitting nominations, JVA Club Directors are encouraged to identify players that display academic success, leadership, responsibility, and involvement in extracurricular activities (i.e. volunteer work, honor roll, class officer, musical achievements, etc).
Nominees must be in grades 9-11 and competing for a JVA member club. Each club can nominate up to three players per age division per club.
Nominations will be accepted April 10th – May 5th. Click here to nominate a player.
Awardees will be chosen by the JVA Awards Committee and announced May 15, 2017.
The twenty honorees will be presented with an award at the JVA Midyear meeting at the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL. Winners each receive an NCSA Athleadership Grant to provide guidance and exposure in the recruiting process.
