Share Your Coach to Coach Video in 5 Easy Steps.
Begin with Step #1 and if you have any questions along the way please contact us.
Step #1: Pick Your Favorite Drill
- The drill can be designed for any juniors age (10-18) and any level.
- Do not repurpose an existing video that has already been shared on YouTube. Original content is required.
- The drill should be something designed for a team practice or group clinic to train a specific skill, outcome or concept of the game. Agility workouts and strength training videos will not be accepted.
- Show a progression or include how a coach can make the drill collaborate or competitive
- Example: Teach footwork, incorporate a ball, train the skill with the entire team on a full court, half court or even using a wall.
Step #2: Record in horizontal (widescreen) view if using a smart phone.
If you are not sure which view, check the video on your laptop or desktop and make sure there is no black space on the side of your video.
Step #3: Start with a 5-15 second introduction.
Includes your name/club name, the name of the drill, and what skill(s) and/or outcome the drill is intended to train. Make sure you are no more than 5 feet from the recording device so the sound quality is strong. You can use a free APP called Audio Memos to record your voice as you explain the drill. The audio file can be added to your video or sent with your video.
Step #4: Film the drill taking place.
The best angle is from the end line or one of the back corners on the same side of the net. Video length preferred is at least 2 minutes and no longer than 4 minutes.
Step #5: Share the video one of two ways.
1) Upload the edited video* with audio onto YouTube. In the video settings, make sure the video is “Unlisted”, rather than Public or Private. Then email the YouTube link to briana.schunzel@jvavolleyball.org
OR
2) Share the video to briana.schunzel@jvavolleyball.org using Google Drive or DropBox.
* We will add the JVA intro and closing to your video.
