To host a JVA insured tournament, the host club must have a JVA Club Director membership

JVA recommends that all JVA member hosted tournaments follow the same guidelines.

The JVA follows the basic Age Definitions set by USA Volleyball for the 2026-27 season. The date cutoff is July 1, and age definitions can be viewed below. Click here to view the complete guidelines.

JVA allows age-waivered athletes to compete at their grade level with their peers, provided they are no more than one year older than the maximum age defined for that division.

To request an age waiver, complete the JVA Age Waiver Request Form. The form must be submitted by a Club Director or Club Administrator and include a copy of the athlete’s birth certificate and proof of grade, such as a report card, school ID, or class schedule, to verify the athlete’s current school year and grade level.

Submit the completed request and all required documentation for approval before the tournament’s roster deadline.

JVA will require proof of a clear background screening and coaches training. Background screen and training is $27 and is good for one year from date of completion. CLICK HERE for more on the background screens and training. JVA does accept AAU cleared background screens. JVA does NOT accept USAV screens.
