Uniting the Nation’s Elite Volleyball Events

JVA Challenge Series Events are 2-3 day tournaments hosted by JVA member clubs across the country.

How can your tournament be a part of the JVA Challenge Series?

The JVA Challenge Series highlights our members’ best tournaments nationwide. The JVA Challenge Series Tournament Directors are committed to offering high quality events and agree to specific JVA requirements to ensure a great experience for the participants. 

To be considered as a JVA Challenge Series event, events must be at a minimum of two days and have at least 120 participating teams. Boys and girls events are eligible to apply.

JVA will provide the following to Challenge Series Hosts:

  • Assistance with promotion via
    • Press release announcing the JVA Challenge Series events
    • Listing on the JVA Challenge Series webpage
    • Targeted event emails to JVA’s full database of junior volleyball clubs
    • JVA social media
  • Bulk pricing on custom made medals if desired at JVA discounted rate
  • Use of the JVA Officials Reward Program to incentivize officials to work JVA Challenge Series events
  • Custom made bag tags with straps for your event participants provided by i6


Last Years Challenge Series Events

Below are the requirements to host a JVA Challenge Series event.

  • Event Host must require, verify and enforce that all rostered adults must have JVA or AAU Background Screening.

  • Insurance must be JVA or independent insurance that is all inclusive. Event must be listed as JVA.

  • If using JVA insurance, Event Host must collect the Coaches Sign-In Form that players and staff have all signed the JVA Insurance Waiver.

  • If the tournament is cancelled by Event Host for any reason, each team will receive a refund of 80-100% at the Event Host’s discretion. (JVA should be notified with a refund amount or percentage).

  • Minimum 120 teams

  • Minimum 2-day event

  • 5-match guarantee for the weekend; minimum of 2 matches on Day 2

  • Match play competition

  • Event Staff must inform teams if there is any change to the age division in which they entered

  • R1 for all matches; R1 & R2 for Gold Division semi-finals and finals

  • USAV Rules for Domestic Competition with the following variations:

    • Age waivered players are allowed as long as they are not a year older than their peers
    • Libero is allowed to serve in one (1) rotation
    • Step-in allowed on service for 10’s and 11’s divisions
  • Use AES (Advanced Event Systems) or TM2Sign for results management (no exceptions)

  • No “Stay to Play” policies

  • Prominent display of JVA banner(s)

  • Share post-event survey provided by JVA, results will be sent to Tournament Director

  • Challenge Series events must be open to teams of all affiliations
