We are happy to announce that Max Miller has been re-elected and Matt McEvoy has been elected to the JVA Board of Directors. This marks Max’s second term on the Board and Matt’s first.

Max Miller is the Club Director of Mintonette Sports in Columbus, Ohio, and has been a JVA member for 17 years. His teams have earned multiple National Championships across both AAU and USAV competition. Mintonette Sports is also deeply engaged in community service, supporting inner-city volleyball programs. Max is a frequent contributor to JVA business and training education through videos, articles, and presentations at the AVCA Convention and the JVA Club Management Track.

With more than 30 years in the sport, including 20 years as a Club Director, Max continues to give back through his service as a JVA Board Member and participant in the JVA Mentorship Program. He has consistently partnered with JVA leadership to advance education for club directors and coaches, with an emphasis on sustainable business practices and long-term growth. Max is particularly invested in the JVA Next vision and helping club leaders strengthen their organizations through strategic planning.

“We are so excited that Max has been re-elected to our board. He brings decades of experience and a steady, practical perspective to the JVA Board. His long-standing commitment to club leadership, education, and mentorship aligns perfectly with where JVA is headed, and we’re excited to have his voice help guide the future of our organization,” said JVA Executive Director, Lisa Wielebnicki.

Matt McEvoy has been a leader in youth and competitive volleyball for nearly two decades. He has served as the Owner and Director of SynergyForce Volleyball Club since 2008 and has been a JVA member for six years. Through his partnership with JVA, Matt launched Elite Event Partners, which now operates three major JVA tournaments: the Winter Classic, the Spring Challenge, and the NorCal Invitational. He also helped form the West Coast Volleyball Association and, as its Executive Director, has grown the Power and Regional Leagues to more than 250 teams in just three years. In this role, Matt oversees the JVA/AAU Boys’ Power Series events Bay Area Battle and SacTown Showdown. He has also served as a presenter for the JVA Club Management Track and as a JVA Mentor.

“I have intimate knowledge of event management, coalition building and revenue generation that will provide value to the board and JVA. I’m a people-person. I most enjoy learning about our partners, customers, and coaches, and identifying ways we can add value to them. I feel very fortunate to work in sports and fortunate for the opportunity to use our events as a platform to benefit others. We also can create opportunities for young people to develop their skills on and off the court. I take pride in relationship development where all parties truly win,” said Matt McEvoy in his board election application.

“Matt has been instrumental in growing JVA’s presence and impact on the West Coast through innovative events, strong partnerships, and a clear focus on serving clubs and athletes. His leadership and forward-thinking approach will be a tremendous asset to the JVA Board as we continue to expand opportunities nationwide,” said Wielebnicki.
