Each year the JVA sponsors educational sessions at the AVCA Annual Convention, and this year we’ve doubled the number of sessions with 2 hard court sessions, 2 sand court sessions and 4 classroom sessions. The topics are always geared toward the business of junior volleyball and training junior volleyball athletes. This year we are beyond excited for the sessions we will be hosting, as the presenters share a wealth of knowledge, expertise and respect in the national and international volleyball industry.

“The Little Things that Win Games: How to Fix the Small Mistakes that Cost Points” Presented by Dane Selznick
Dane Selznick is the Club Director for Santa Monica Beach VBC. In addition to his work with juniors, Dane has trained over 500 domestic andinternational men & women beach professionals from 25 countries competing on the AVP, WPVA, FIVB, BVA, Bud Light 4-man/women tours. Dane began playing beach in high school and has won 14 pro tour events and been in the finals 42 times. At San Bernardino Valley College he was NJCAA All-America and MVP twice. He has coached both women’s and men’s USA Olympic Teams.

“Small Sides Games that Help Score Big Points” Presented by Eric Schulze, General Manager and Coach for Club Fusion Volleyball.
In addition to his daily administrative responsibilities as General Manager at Club Fusion, Eric also serves as the Lead Trainer for their National Program and is the longtime head coach of their highly successful 18 Black team. Coaching for over 17 years, Schulze has led numerous teams to Top 10 finishes in the 18 Open division at the AAU, JVA and USAV National Championships, including six Top 5 finishes. In his career, Schulze has trained over 200 NCAA Division I players that have received numerous accolades at both the high school and college level including coaching 12 future NCAA Division I All-Americans. In addition to his club experience, Schulze has coached in 5 international tournaments at the U18 and U22 level, with his teams reaching the semi-finals or championship match in 4 of the events.

Stein Metzger is the UCLA Head Women’s Beach Volleyball Coach. Stein was a 2004 Olympian, an 18-time AVP champion, FIVB winner. He also was the starting setter, leading UCLA to 4 consecutive NCAA finals as a starting setter, winning 3 NCAA National Championships and was named the MVP his senior year and a member of the UCLA Hall of Fame. He has coached over 50 Pro FIVB and AVP players each years including male and female players from countries across the globe.

Ami Strutin Belinoff is the Sports Psychologist for 692 San Diego Beach. He has his Master’s in Clinical Psychology and School Phychology and is a Professional member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, as well as a Member of San Diego Sport Psychology Associates.

The JVA Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, December 19th at 2:00 p.m. in Room 206 featuring Keynote Speaker: Rhonda Revelle, Nebraska Softball Coach. “Winning Off the Court First—How Your Culture Drives Success.”
Rhonda Revelle is a distinguished softball coach and athletic administrator. Revelle is entering her 24th season as Nebraska’s head softball coach. As a hall of fame softball coach, Revelle has won more games at Nebraska (878) than any other head coach – male or female – in the history of Husker Athletics. A Big Eight, Big 12 and Big Ten Coach of the Year, Revelle has guided Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament in 19 of the last 21 seasons, including three trips to the Women’s College World Series and eight top-10 national finishes.
Rhonda Revelle is passionate about life and community. A servant leader, Rhonda is an active member of the Lincoln community, and was named the 2003 Downtown YMCA Co-Volunteer of the Year while also serving as a chairperson for several charitable campaigns over the past two decades.
Rhonda is an experienced and dynamic speaker, speaking to corporate groups on team building, leadership, etc. Rhonda will speak on how to develop a culture in your club program: a culture that permeates your entire club from leadership, through coaches, players and families; a culture that builds trust, respect and unity.
