The JVA is thrilled to launch the JVA Officials Reward Program (ORP) designed to recruit, retain and reward Officials that support JVA Volleyball Events. Through this program, Officials will be recognized for reaching a certain level of achievement during the junior volleyball season, and rewarded for recruiting new Officials to the sport.
“JVA has long recognized how much value officials add to the quality of our events. They are an important part of our team. Good officials add value to the experience of the teams and their families, and they are instrumental to running a successful event. As our sport continues to attract new players, new clubs, new events, the number of officials is not following the same trend. We developed the ORP program to reward the officials who work JVA events and, more importantly, bring new officials into our sport. JVA greatly values the role that Officials play in the junior volleyball ecosystem, and we are committed to growing the population at JVA events,” said JVA Executive Director, Jenny Hahn.

This program is open to all certified Officials, from beginner to most experienced. Eligible events in the Officials Reward Program are all JVA hosted girls events, JVA hosted boys events, and all JVA Challenge Series Events.
“First, thank you to the JVA for taking an aggressive and tangible approach of rewarding those officials who are faithful to officiate JVA Hosted and JVA Challenge Series events,” said JVA Head Official, Joseph O’Neal. “As a head referee for many of the JVA Hosted events, your dedication to treating officials well (through competitive pay, food, water, snacks, a kind word, and a smile), has made recruitment easier. Secondly, the Reward Program rewards both the recruit and recruiter with a signing bonus. This benefit also helps to start the mentor/mentee relationship! So, it is a triple win. Players/coaches have officials who want to become better at officiating, mentors are rewarded for their time, expertise, and gregariousness, and JVA Event staff have happy officials working their events!”
The JVA Officials Reward Program kicks off with the Chitown Boys Challenge November 19-21, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois. All Officials are invited to Join the JVA Experience this season and receive the benefits of the JVA Officials Reward Program.
