This award honors outstanding service and contributions to the JVA.
The JVA would not be where it is today without the passion, vision and dedication of our members who are the heart and soul of our organization.
At the JVA Annual Gathering in December during the AVCA Annual Convention the JVA acknowledges one individual with JVA Above and Beyond Award. Recipients of this award do not need to be present to receive their award.
Below is more information about the JVA Above and Beyond Award.
Eligibility: All JVA Above and Beyond honorees are current JVA members. The individual must be currently active in junior club volleyball. The individual does not have to have served with the same club for the duration of their service to be eligible for a level of service award.

Scott’s dedication and passion to not only growing boys volleyball within his club, but throughout the entire country has led to the formation of the National Boys Volleyball Association, a committee solely dedicated to organizing, promoting, and prioritizing the growth and development of boys volleyball nationally. With Scotts vision and this committee coming to fruition, multiple leagues and events have been created and boys volleyball is trending upward.

Emily is always looking for opportunities to lead, to guide, to mentor to assist. She a mentor for the JVA Mentor Program, hopping on calls and building relationships as she guides new business owners through the trenches. She has authored numerous articles and provided resources on the facets of running a club from marketing to facility operations, creating new programs, boys, beach and more. She has presented several webinars, and sessions for the AVCA convention line-up year after year.

Steve went WAY above and beyond as the Chair of JVA’s Finance Committee. By planning out over a two year period, budget tweaking, looking into every nook and crany for areas to save and areas to bring in revenue, we have been able to keep JVA viable to move forward. But Steve didn’t just do this for JVA, he assisted many clubs across the country. He hosted calls, presented countless webinars and contributed many articles on the business of volleyball, in addition to presenting at convention and the JVA Club Management Guide. John has done so much for our organization and is always hungry to do more, to help, to serve others. From networking with other club directors, providing feedback and constantly reaching out to contribute and help grow the resources for juniors, John has continuously been an advocate for the evolving game of volleyball. As well as being the North Carolina AAU Volleyball Director, he works consistently with the JVA and hosts multiple JVA events in Charlotte, while helping to organize JVA insured event in other areas.

Scott started 692 Beach with only 4 players in the first season, and grew to 40 in the second year, and has had consistent growth by delivering an outstanding service to the junior beach community in Dallas, Texas. Since joining the JVA 4 years ago, he has been consistently going Above and Beyond by contributing to JVA Member Education, sharing videos and feedback with the education committee, collaborating on events, presenting webinars or classroom AND court sessions at the AVCA Convention on behalf of the JVA. He is doing a phenomenal job of growing the beach game in his home state of Texas and we are thankful he is a member of the JVA.
