Lisa Wielebnicki, New JVA Executive Director, to Lead Next Chapter
The Junior Volleyball Association, a premier club volleyball association with nearly 1,700 members dedicated to promoting the growth of youth and junior volleyball, is pleased to announce a new Executive Director, Lisa Wielebnicki, to lead the next chapter of our association.
Hired in 2013, Lisa was previously the Director of Member Development for the JVA, and has been instrumental in the JVA’s consistent growth in membership and events across the country. She has a solid volleyball background at all levels. After completing her volleyball career at Purdue University, she served as the Student Assistant Coach followed by three seasons as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Samford University where her responsibilities included recruiting, aiding in day to day team training, managing community service functions, and coordination of camps. In 2011 she helped guide the program to its first NCAA appearance. Lisa also has an extensive background competing and coaching at the junior level.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to step into the role of Executive Director of the Junior Volleyball Association. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jenny for her incredible leadership, passion, and dedication to growing youth volleyball and this organization, and to the Board for trusting me with this opportunity to continue building on her impactful legacy. As we move forward, this deeply motivated staff will keep advancing our mission and supporting the athletes, coaches, club directors, and families who make this sport so special. To be a part of the JVA, is to be a part of something special, and I am fortunate to work alongside these amazing people and within this community of directors,” said Lisa.
Jenny Hahn, who served as the Executive Director since 2010, will remain on staff as the Director of Special Programs and Initiatives. She co-founded Milwaukee Sting VBC in 1989, serving as director, head coach and board member through today. She was the Operations Director and then Executive Director of Badger Region Volleyball Association from 1998-2010.
“JVA has been the highlight of my career in volleyball. My journey began 47 years ago, starting as a volunteer grade school coach and evolving into roles as a club co-founder, club coach, high school coach, USAV Region Executive Director, and eventually JVA Executive Director. Now, it’s time to pass the baton to the next generation. While I may be stepping back, I’m not stepping away completely. JVA is deeply ingrained in me, and I will remain involved behind the scenes, contributing to JVA and other organizations that are helping our sport grow,” stated Jenny.
