This past MLK weekend was the 1st annual JVA Rock ‘N Rumble Presented by Rox Volleyball in Cleveland as 36 volleyball courts filled the entire floor of the Convention Center in Cleveland. This first time event, co-hosted with Munciana Volleyball Club was extremely well-received. The field featured 253 club teams from 10 states and Canada among girls divisions 12U-18U.

The event kicked off with 110 players participating in the PrepVolleyball.com Unsigned Showcase on Friday evening, followed by two straight days of fun volleyball, among many Divisions I, II, and III college coaches observing in the crowd.  The JVA Dig It App provided convenience and entertainment for the participants, and received the most downloads and submitting photos for a JVA event to date! Plus, no one could miss a photo opp with the JVA’s mascot Jinx who roamed the courts making friends all day long.

Adding to the excitment is the fact that the JVA Rock ‘N Rumble, consisting of over 2,600 athletes, made history as it played host to the biggest junior volleyball event ever staged in Cleveland. Many thanks go to the collaboration of the Great Cleveland Sports Commission and Munciana Volleyball Club, as well as Title Sponsor Rox Volleyball and Championship Court Sponsor Ultra Ankle.

“JVA and Munciana Volleyball Club want to thank all the teams that participated in the Rock ‘N Rumble Presented by Rox Volleyball this past weekend. The State of Ohio and city of Cleveland turned out in full force and showed us an amazing level of volleyball and spirit of competition. The teams and officials that are members of the OVR provided a quality experience for all of our participants. We are looking forward to 2017,” states Jenny Hahn, Executive Director of the JVA.

$2.5 million of economic activity will be created annually during the three years this event will be staged in Cleveland. It fully utilizes the Convention Center’s exhibit hall space during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.

Buckeyefire Club Director Grant Roberts shares his positive thoughts on the event. “I wanted to thank you very much for a great tournament and a wonderful experience…I found your tournament to be refreshing, well organized, and loved the fun little things you do throughout the day.  We certainly look forward to future tournaments from you and will be sure to plan for our entire club to participate in future events such as this. You guys made Cleveland proud and it’s great to have volleyball finally supported with a major event here in Cleveland.”

Make sure to save the date for the 2017 JVA Rock ‘N Rumble January 21-22, 2017.  Final standings and event photos can be found on the JVA Rock ‘N Rumble page.
