The JVA is excited to announce that it is hosting its first boys event, the JVA Showdown in Motown presented by Nike December 11-12, 2021 in Detroit, Michigan. The event will bring in top teams from around the midwest, mideast and northeast with several clubs already committed.
“One of our growth initiatives has been to create a high level boys’ volleyball event. With clubs like High Performance St. Louis, Ultimate, MOD Volleyball and Sports Performance Boys, to name a few, we feel we are on the right track to build something special for the boys’ game” states JVA Director of Events Steve Bailey. “After having many conversations with top boys club directors around the country, we know there are still a lot of boys programs looking for great events, and we hope they find that at the JVA Showdown in Motown this December.”
The JVA Showdown in Motown is an all-inclusive event for boys competing in 12U-18U divisions. All teams, regardless of affiliation are welcome and will be insured. The JVA ensures a high quality event that complies with all local health department safety regulations, and provides a great experience for the participants.
From its formation in 2006, the JVA has been focused on growing junior volleyball from the grassroots level. In the past few years, the organization has recognized the importance of focusing its efforts on boys volleyball, especially since over one third of JVA member clubs have a boys program.
“Our mission at JVA is to promote the growth of volleyball through program development, and helping our members add and grow boys’ programs is a big part of that mission” states JVA Executive Director Jenny Hahn. “We are excited to add The JVA Showdown in Motown to our event schedule to provide a quality boys event for athletes from across the country to showcase their talent.”
