The 2022 BVCA Club Challenge Series powered by JVA Unites the Nation's Elite Beach Events

The JVA is pleased to announce the 2022 BVCA Club Challenge Series powered by the JVA and in partnership with the Beach Volleyball Clubs of America. In its fourth year, the series has nearly doubled in size from the previous year, featuring 20 competitive club duel events nationwide.

Designed to emulate the college game, the series of weekend events are a collaboration of junior beach volleyball clubs that align their ranked teams to compete against one another for the win. Each tournament is required to have match play competition following NCAA beach volleyball rules, which helps clubs develop their athletes for the next level.

“We are slowly building a series based on the growth of beach clubs and focusing on high level, quality events,” shares BVCA Founder and JVA Board Member Jeff Smith. “In our fourth year running the BVCA Club Challenge Series the events are selling out in one day, so there is definitely a high demand and more clubs are buying into the club duel format. The series continues to grow on a national level with new events in Colorado, Arizona, and Puerto Rico.”

The 2022 BVCA Club Challenge Series features a true National Club Schedule and Pairs Events that all culminate in the 2022 BVCA National Championships in Hermosa Beach in July. The BVCA database offers a national database of athletes and what club they play for, as well as a national points system and national ranking system for clubs and pairs. The BVCA membership also enforces standards for beach club events across the country and encourages players to be a member of the same club for the duration of the season.

Each event in the BVCA Club Challenge Series is required to have match play competition following NCAA beach volleyball rules with 5-team or 3-team “squads”, as well as a pairs event where all teams must come from the same club. Each event can have up to 3 divisions, allowing clubs and athletes to have matched competition among three divisions: Open, Club, and Futures.

There is no stay to play policy, and every tournament is open to clubs/teams of any affiliation (AAU, USAV, JVA, other) so all teams are welcome and will be insured. We are expecting additional BVCA Club Challenge events to be added in the spring and summer.
