The JVA is excited to facilitate a long list of indoor and beach volleyball educational sessions at the 2024 AVCA Convention and NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships in Louisville, Kentucky December 18-22, 2024. The classroom and court sessions, sponsored by the JVA, feature a number of seasoned Club Directors, Coaches and Youth Sports Leaders covering a wide array of topics that will make this year’s Convention one you must attend! New this year: During Convention Marketplace hours, the JVA staff will be available for meetings at the JVA booth #241. More information on this soon.

3:15PM  -4:15PM: Coaching Learning Lab.  Building a Legacy: How Our Club’s Culture Develops and Nurtures Elite Athletes from Early Years to College presented by Jill Hunt, NKYVC Club Director and Morgan Hentz, 3x Division I Women’s Volleyball National Champion, Libero training with the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team, and Atlanta Vibe Professional Player in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

10:15AM – 11:15AM  JVA Beach Club Directors and Coaches Meeting. Junior Beach Club Directors, Coaches, and Event Operators are invited to this discussion focused on improving the junior beach experience through education, resources and events.

11:00AM – 12:00PM Club Director Mentoring Huddle presented by Jason Kozak (VA Elite), Jasmine Fullove (The Academy Boiler Juniors) and Jackie Cline (Elite VBTC). Small breakout groups designed to provide a mentoring experience and discussion among attendees and presenters. Topics include finance/accounting, marketing, facility programming, camps, coach development, communication and MORE!

9:00AM-10:00AM: What girls and boys club and high school coaches can learn from the men’s college game presented by Ozhan Bahrambeygui, Executive Director of COAST Volleyball.

A deep dive into the LBSU and UCLA men’s college transition systems and the concepts that can be carried over into the boys and girls junior games. This session will examine the setting and attack plans used by these programs to maximize transition success when you are in the “knock out” phase of the game. Ozhan will also go through drill progressions and the ideas that need active reinforcement in order to get there.
