MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN (June 18, 2021) The JVA is proud to announce that by leading our own Dig Pink® campaign this spring we raised nearly $3,000 in support of The Side-Out Foundation to help give those living with stage IV breast cancer more time with their families.

“JVA’s Dig Pink campaign shows exactly what teams can do when they come together in support of a common cause,” says The Side-Out Foundation Executive Director Rick Dunetz. “This money raised by JVA and its supporting clubs is going to help the Side-Out Foundation provide personalized treatment solutions to people with metastatic breast cancer, which ultimately means more tomorrows.”

The JVA reached out to its members and teams participating in a JVA Tournament to join in supporting this incredible cause, and we are so thankful for all who joined in! A special thank you goes to N&D Sports, JVA’s tournament merchandise provider, for sharing a portion of the proceeds from pink merchandise sales. The second day of each JVA hosted tournament was designated a Dig Pink Day to raise awareness and funding for The Side-Out Foundation’s newest pilot.

After 10+ years of research that was funded entirely by the sport of volleyball, The Side-Out Foundation’s newest pilot aims to provide stage IV breast cancer patients with a report of precisely matched therapeutic options, which will help physicians treat those patients with medications that target their unique cancer.

“We are thankful for the JVA’s friendship and thrilled by their support,” states Development Specialist Janice Kruger.  “The JVA 2021 Dig Pink campaign funds support life changing science that is serving the people living with metastatic breast cancer.  JVA is a strong advocate for the Side-Out Foundation and together we can change cancer care forever!”
