New Partnership is designed to promote and enhance healthy parent-coach engagement within all Junior Volleyball Association’s member clubs and families in an effort to provide the best possible sport experience for all involved.
Milwaukee, WI (November 02, 2020) – Junior Volleyball Association, the leading junior volleyball organization providing programs, resources, and education announced today it has partnered with A Better Way Athletics, the premier professional development organization for coaches and directors who want to help the next generation of athletes maximize their abilities and prepare them for life beyond the world of athletics.
It is more important than ever to find innovative ways to provide the tools, resources, and perspective coaches and directors need to lead the athletes and parents through the journey of sports, and nourish the greater good that volleyball can provide.
With this new partnership, the Junior Volleyball Association will further its mission of providing value to member clubs by providing them with an outstanding parent and coach engagement platform to enhance every club’s culture built on trust and the athlete’s overall life experience through sport.
“When I meet with new Club Directors, one of the questions I ask is ‘What keeps you up at night?’ Most often the response is “parents”. As a parent of a former volleyball athlete, I often struggled with when to speak up or when to “ride the bus”. I’m thrilled about our partnership with A Better Way Athletics. JVA Club Directors will have a resource for creating a culture of cooperation. Clubs and families will have the tools to create and sustain an atmosphere of trust with everyone pulling the right direction” says JVA Executive Director Jenny Hahn.
A Better Way was founded in 2018 and began to help parents and coaches navigate the sport journey through engagement and education. It was apparent that many parents are overwhelmed and anxious about what to do and what not to do as their child enters the athletic world. That uncertainty can frequently result in the child having a negative experience, leading to early burnout, emotional stress and poor performance. It can also have a detrimental effect on the family as a whole. A Better Way strives to “Restore the Joy” of sport for coaches, parents, and athletes by providing healthy perspective and best practices at every stage of the athletic journey.
“A Better Way is excited to partner with the JVA to impact the families their clubs lead” shares Heath Eslinger, Director of Business Development for A Better Way Athletics. “At A Better Way we understand the investment and emotions that come with our children playing sport and we are committed to helping families do it well. We can’t wait to get started!”
