Registering for club volleyball is an exciting milestone. It’s the beginning of a new season filled with practices, tournaments, friendships and unforgettable memories.

It’s also a significant investment for many families.

Before completing registration, it’s important to understand your club’s refund policy and the protection options that may be available if life takes an unexpected turn.

Why Are Registration Fees Non-Refundable?

Most volleyball clubs have non-refundable registration policies because they commit to season expenses well before the first practice.

Registration fees help cover:

  • Coaches and trainers
  • Facility rentals
  • Tournament entry fees
  • Insurance
  • Equipment
  • Administrative and operating expenses

These costs are committed in advance, allowing clubs to provide a quality experience for every athlete throughout the season.

What If My Athlete Can’t Participate?

While no one expects plans to change, unexpected situations do happen.

  • Season-ending injury, on or off the court, including pre-season
  • Season-ending illness
  • Short-term injury
  • Short-term illness
  • Parent job loss or relocation
  • Military reassignment

Life doesn’t always follow the volleyball schedule.

Many clubs offer Player Registration Protection, an optional coverage available during registration that can help protect your eligible, non-refundable registration fees if your athlete is unable to participate due to an approved covered event.

How Does It Work?

If your club offers Player Registration Protection during registration, you’ll have the opportunity to add coverage before completing checkout.

If an approved covered event occurs, you simply file a claim directly with Vertical Insure.

If approved, eligible reimbursement is based on the unused portion of the season and the terms of the policy.
